Rapper DMX trying to save house through bankruptcy filing

A December 29 article of Mail Online revealed that well-known rap artist “DMX” has filed for bankruptcy to possibly protect his house in New York and to settle his millions worth of debt to creditors.

Reports said it is already the third time that the 46-year-old rapper had filed for bankruptcy. DMX, or Earl Simmons, had first filed for bankruptcy in 2009. DMX has reportedly filed for Chapter 13 Bankruptcy after owing $2,030,970 to his creditors including several family support payments. In his filing, DMX had listed his $350,000 home in Mount Kisco as his asset and denied owning any other assets. DMX, who “has fathered 15 children” to several different women, filed for Chapter 13 after failing to settle child support payments in more than a decade. He was also arrested in 2015 and sentenced to six months of imprisonment for not paying child support.
